3rd Place at the Delancey UK Schools Chess GigaFinal 2026
A brilliant performance from our U12 girls player, finishing 3rd in the Southern GigaFinal with 5 out of 7 points and holding a top-3 board position throughout.
We are incredibly proud to share that one of our junior members has delivered an outstanding performance at the Delancey UK Schools Chess Challenge โ Southern GigaFinal 2026, finishing 3rd place in the U12 Girls category.

The result
Competing against the strongest U12 girls players from across the Southern region, our player:
- Scored 5 points out of 7 โ a superb result at this level
- Held a top-3 board position throughout the entire tournament, never dropping out of the medals
- Took home a well-deserved bronze medal at the prize ceremony

About the GigaFinal
The Delancey UK Schools Chess Challenge is the largest chess competition for schoolchildren in the world. The GigaFinal brings together the top performers from regional Megafinals, meaning every player on the day has already proven themselves at county level. Finishing 3rd in this field is a remarkable achievement.
